We offer 2–3 hour private hand-building workshops that are perfect for team-building events, birthday celebrations (kids 5& up), family gatherings, friend groups, or any special occasion. These personalized sessions give your group the opportunity to select 1–2 specific pieces to create, with all materials and instruction provided. Our instructor can even come to you! Your chosen location must be within a 30 minute drive of the Maple Reserve in Manchester, Vermont, and should have enough space for two to three large folding tables, running water, and access to either cellular service or Wi-Fi. Pricing varies based on the project selected and the number of participants. It’s a unique and hands-on way to connect, create lasting memories, and walk away with beautiful, one-of-a-kind pottery made by you and your group.

Questions?
During the workshop, you’ll work with a high-quality mid-range stoneware clay to create your pieces using hand-building techniques. To ensure your creations are durable, food safe, and suitable for the dishwasher and microwave, we follow a two-step kiln firing process. Once your items are formed, the instructor will take them to our studio to dry slowly and thoroughly, this careful drying process helps prevent cracking and breaking. Private groups additionally have the option to paint details/designs on their pieces if they choose to during the workshop. The pieces are then bisque fired in a kiln. After the initial firing, they’ll be ready for glazing and a final firing. Glazes will be selected by participants at the workshop and applied by the instructor after initial firing. Once completed, your finished pieces will be dropped off at the location of the workshop. Only in town for the night of the workshop? No worries, shipping can be arranged for your finished pottery at an additional cost.
